Where Is My Appliance Serial Number? Rating Label Guide

The rating plate is the manufacturer label containing the model and serial information. Its position changes by appliance type, so the quickest method is to select your appliance in the checker and press the information icon beside the number field.

Use Appliance Age Checker

Select the appliance brand and type. The form will tell you whether to enter an FD number or serial number.

Why the brand matters

There is no single universal appliance serial format. Bosch, Siemens and NEFF use an FD production number. Samsung has published serial date codes. LG and AEG encode date information in the serial but can leave the exact decade ambiguous. Other brands use formats that can differ by product line or production period.

What if the code does not identify one year?

The checker does not ask for an approximate decade. If the information on the label is not enough to identify one reliable year, the result says that the age cannot be determined from that number for that brand.
